Typography & Print design
Most of my work in printing was as an employee. Not having the mentality that I would become a designer, I never saved work for my portfolio. I didn't even think to ask. I learned a great deal about design, and designed a great deal, especially typography. Now, I'm working to build up a typographic & print design portfolio.

Galasso print ad
- Galasso Trucking & Rigging magazine ad - Rush work. The directions were to re-create a webpage as a print ad. Most of the artwork was sized OK for print, some was not. Working within those constraints, I kept the overall look & feel of the webpage while sizing and scaling it to fit a magazine ad. Some photo color correction was done for the client, several elements needed transparent backgrounds to work properly. I sent them two ads to choose from, and this one is the one they went with.
- http://www.eclectictech.net/portfolio/type/creativebrief.pdf - (pdf format) this is the creative form brief for Eclectic Tech, LLC. It is intended for use by potential clients, usually before a contract is written, to help them communicate key ideas and information. It becomes the seed for an evaluation of a project, or an interview with the key decision makers.
Database Manipulation
I've been working with various databases and database programs for a long time, including dBaseIII+ (just don't ask me to use it now!), FileMaker Pro, MySQL and PostgreSQL. I can design databases, or parse and manipulate the data.
- Tigerschulmann.com - database migration. Move from a customized implementation of WowBB (forums) to e107 (CMS) systems, preserving user information and forum posts. Also, change the forum structure, combining several forums, changing the names of the forums, and deleting several forums. Successfully migrated to the new systems, keeping passwords, user login information and user-to-post connections in-tact, and changing over to new forum structure. All live database restoration and upload credits go to the forum's owner/manager -- I migrated the systems using php scripts on a private MySQL installation and provided new SQL files for the restoration; no access to the live server was needed.
Sketchbook
These are items of interest from my sketchbook.
- No Contest logo - I won't enter their unofficial logo creation contest (they amount to speculative work, and carry too much risk of design theft). However, inspiration hit me so I sketched up this logo idea anyway.
