It was in these times that a sorcerer, a Sidhe human raised in the Between named Lupei, traveled everywhere closely followed by a pack of wolves, the alpha pair of which were Sidhe as well. Their eyes glowed red, a full half again as large as their pack mates, and they were intensely devoted to one another and the sorcerer. Lupei, however, was not particularly devoted to the women he bedded, and left behind a pregnant Sidhe woman who was in Drendel's court at the palace in Kerri. Thus Drendel attended the birth of Celeglas, meaning Silverleaf, who was one of very few in Kerri who was half-elvish, half-human, yet fully Sidhe. It was recognized by Drendel's prophesying that Celeglas would be king in the future, and there would be peace during his reign. Relieved to have found her future heir, Drendel gladly helped to raise the child with his mother. While her friend did not track Lupei's coming and goings, it was not her lot to hold him responsible for the birthing and she was devoted to her son's upbringing, Drendel did keep track of Lupei's comings and goings, feeling some sense of responsibility for the little heir.
