What is your business health worth?
All sessions must create value for you or your business. In other words, they will improve the you that you bring to your business so that you're more effective in your business OR they will directly improve your business. I will help you and your business to transform and grow, you have to take action on the ideas and plans we come up with in our sessions for it to be effective. In most sessions we'll come up with many effective ideas.
If for some reason we hit a roadblock and cannot come up with ideas or the resources to find the ideas to improve you &/or your business, I will credit you with another session at no charge. That is my guarantee. In turn, you must guarantee to put things into practice. If you have difficulty doing so, please bring it to my attention.
Time is my one finite commodity.
We all value our time in different amounts of money. I don't like to quibble about it -- I'd rather just have a straightforward conversation where you and I agree on an amount of money you're willing to spend for an amount of time I'm willing to spend. I ask that clients know their budget, just like clients would like to know how much money I ask for my time.
From there, it's all haggling and I like to get it over quickly.
I don't just make my prices up from thin air. Coaching is an art. And it's a conversation; you can't really cut corners and save time. Even for phone sessions I require privacy, sometimes travel and a mindset where I'm an extension of your business, so I prepare for sessions and clear my mind and plate so that you have 100% of my attention. Coaching also takes up your precious time. Productivity in a coaching session depends on how quickly you can break through your own barriers to see things differently and our overall success depends on whether you can implement your new perspective in a meaningful way. Coaching is co-creative -- we have to work together to make it successful.
Rates
My preferred negotiating rate is based on $175/hour (That's the most I will ask from a client. And it's what I ask for a 1 hour brainstorming session, which I consider to be a 1-off lightning coaching session with no long-term commitment) and a $50 per half-hour phone session minimum. I can adjust my rates for pre-payment for multiple sessions and hours per session, as well as a commitment to stick with a coaching program for a length of time.
My goal is to negotiate a rate that's a little stretch for you while keeping you in business, and helps pay my bills at the same time -- and I'm going to do everything in my power to make you more profitable so that we can agree to raise my rates as time goes on. That's a win/win, right? We come to a win/win for both of us -- compromises can include paying ahead for blocks of time, shorter sessions, and lower rates -- and all sorts of getting creative from there. It all depends on what you need and what you can afford because I'd rather work with you than haggle on price.
Think about your circumstances before you call.
Someone pointed out that I treat people just like I treat animals: I don't chase them; I wait for them to come to me. I'm not big on pushy sales. I find it obnoxious, so I don't do it. Please come to our conversation honest & clear with yourself about what you can afford before we talk. Have an ideal and a maximum amount in mind, so that we can quickly come to an agreement that we're both satisfied with. I'll always try for a number around your ideal and lower than your maximum -- and if it's really low, I'll ask for a commitment to raise the rate after you hit a specific milestone in your business. If you have to check with your spouse, or look over your current profits before we talk, please do so.
Package Examples (fees negotiable)
Committing to a long-term agreement and purchasing blocks of time in advance help me save accounting time and lower my bill collection expenses -- I pass that savings on to you. I have a unique skillset when it comes to both coaching and web & graphic design. We can create packages specific to you that include one or both services, but here are some examples of what I might negotiate for a 3-month commitment:
Starter $230/month
- 30 minutes of phone coaching per week.
In Business $300/month
- 1 hour of phone coaching per week
- unlimited email or text support (i.e. asynchronous support)
Growth $400/month
- 1 hour of phone coaching per week
- unlimited email or text support
- up to 2 hours of web maintenance or design tasks per month (printing must be reimbursed at-cost) via email (1/2 hour minimum per task i.e. max of 4 tasks/month, bundling smaller tasks together is OK)
- 2 tickets for group brainstorming
