Group Brainstorming: Art of Delegating Session

September 30, 2014 (Tuesday)

The Art of Delegation

Themed brainstorming sessions have a single central topic so that more of the session is relevant to all attendees. We will discuss and share strategies for delegating tasks to virtual and other assistants. And if anyone in the room is like me, we can specifically address perfectionism and how to allay some of the worries about delegating tasks.

All group brainstorming sessions will cover topics as determined by attendees. Some suggested questions, roadblocks and problems that attendees might face are: what to delegate, how to delegate (creating instructions, scripts, etc.), training vs. perfectionism, finding tools that help with scheduling/tracking/delegating. But any topic that circles around delegation is fair game.

This is not a lecture, nor really a pre-planned agenda-based workshop. Each person will be asked where they're stuck in the delegation process, creating an ad-hoc agenda based around attendee's pain-points and the entire group will make suggestions for solutions/strategies/homework, etc. to resolve them, but I will be prepared to address attendee's issues if everyone else is at a loss.

Potential topics

  • Assessing an assistant's strengths
  • What is "safe" to delegate?
  • In-person or virtual, faceless vs. dedicated, contractors vs employees
  • Your Money or Your Life!
  • Scripting and training
  • Lather, rinse, repeat...ing tasks (automation)

Please come prepared with your biggest burning need for the session. That will be what influences our direction.

I am so grateful to you for the brainstorming session. It helped me to focus more clearly on the direction I want my business to take and gave me some suggestions that I had not considered. I would highly recommend the sessions to anyone starting a new business or interested in new directions for an existing business. Thank you for helping me think "outside the box."
